How I got interested in Jack Russell Terriers:I fell in love with a small white dogs with tan spots at a horse show in 1989. It hit me like a ton of bricks that I had to have a dog like that. I asked the owner of the dog what it was, and she told me it was a Jack Russell Terrier. It took me many months to find one. I got papers to register with JRTBA, but I never sent the papers in. After a few months, I met a man while shopping for a male dog. He gave me the number of Mary Abbott, one of the South Coast JRT club officers at that time. I called her and the rest is history. My goals in breeding Jack Russell Terriers:What I look for in a dog is disposition, with hunting instinct, to keep the goals of the breed, good balance, type, a strong head, and good angulation. I have been working to incorporate this into my lines since I got interested in conformation showing. As I have gotten older, I have not been able to keep up with the racing dogs. |
